Quick Throttle Expo - Orange County, California

Quick Throttle Expo 2006Yesterday, some of us from our riding club took a ride out to the Quick Throttle Expo at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

We had actually visited the pre-Expo party at the Hooters in Costa Mesa, CA, a couple evenings earlier, and saw some of the chopper builders there.

The weather looked like rain was imminent. We took Ortega Highway west to the I-5, and then on to the 73 toll road, to the 55, to the fairgrounds. Ortega Highway was pretty much wet all the way, with some light rain on the Orange County side, but all went well.

The Expo itself, I suppose, wasn't anything out of the ordinary. There was free parking at the front of the event for motorcycles, something you can't say about other shows like Easy Riders. Otherwise, there was pretty much the same set of vendors and same set of choppers you see at all other other biker shows. For us, it was mostly a day to ride and hang out.

I've got photos posted here.

We did do some bar-hoppin', which is something I love to do: Cook's Corner, Hell's Kitchen, Bikini Beach Club, Tom's Farms, and Tuxies.
