Mike Seate, a columnist for the Pittsburgh Tribune Review recently referred to the Rolling Thunder as "Thug Bikers" in his latest article...But between the marchers and their destination stood several hundred bikers from groups including Rolling Thunder and Gathering of Eagles. Though they are not considered outlaw motorcycle gangs, the groups ride loud Harley-Davidsons and wear black leathers emblazoned with gang-style back patches.

What Seate failed to include in his piece is that this protest used the Vietnam War Memorial as a symbol of hatred. They wanted to use this memorial as a way to liken themselves with the war protesters of the 1960's and 70's. Now try to imagine how that made Vietnam Veterans feel?
Imagine, if you will, the Ku Klux Klan holding a protest rally at the tomb of Martin Luther King Jr.
Imagine the American Nazi Party trying to demonstrate inside of a synagogue.
Don't blame Rolling Thunder for letting emotions run high. Blame the war protesters for their poor choice of venue.
The Conprotantor has an excellent article that details the "other side of the story"...
