A vinter called, "V-Twin Vineyards" of Sonoma County, California, is now marketing a brand of wine for V-Twin enthusiasts.
Their first offering is a 2004 estate vineyard Zinfandel dubbed, "V-Twin Zin". The wine maker claims it's really turning heads withing the motorcycling community. The front label is emblazoned with skulls and a flaming v-twin engine.
The company has also established an online wine community called, "Easy Rider Wine Club", that allows members to post photos of their bikes, share news and information.
Scott Del Fava, Brand Manager for V-Twin Vineyards, says he sees a growing market for Harley riders who love wine, claiming that, "Most bikers are now in their 40s and 50s, with steady careers and families. What they share is a love of the finer things in life, and an interest in good food, good times, and of course, good wine."
So does this mean that "most bikers" are going soft as they turn to wine and join online wine clubs?"No way," laughs Del Fava. "Everyone who rides a Harley is a little bit of a hard-ass, but that doesn't mean we drink cheap wine!"
Wow, I guess he's calling me a "hard-ass". Ouch, that hurts.
