When you read a review of a motorcycle, one thing to consider as a reader, is who is doing the review.
In this case, Dale Franks, whose blog is one of the ones I follow, rides a 1200 Sportster, and decided to see what all the BMW hub-bub was all about. He sat on a R1200 RT, the K1200 GT, and the K1200 LT. In short, he doesn't like them.

But I think the paragraph that captures the essence of Dale's review is the following...
No forward controls. No floorboards, and even if you could get them, your legs would be spread so wide you probably coudn't touch the ground anyway.It's kinda like how a cowboy from Texas takes a look at a Mercedes, and says "nice car, but there's no room for my gun rack."
