The Children's Hospital of Denver, apparently, is requiring motorcyclists to wear helmets, on next year's Toy Run.
An article was posted on the Colorado ABATE website explaining that hospital officials will not allow riders to participate in the benefit event if they don't wear a helmet. Colorado is a state that permits riders to go helmetless.
I'm not exactly sure if The Children's Hospital will refuse your donation if you show up without a helmet. Moreover, the Colorado ABATE website does not explain why the hospital made this decision.
Also, I don't believe this is even the hospital's event. It's actually coordinated by the Rocky Mountain HOG chapter.
So, might this be the start of charity events that discriminate against bikers who choose to ride without a helmet?

This post was sarcastic right?
Wear your helmet, some who loves you is waiting for you to come home.

Hey Anonymous...make up your own mind and do what you want (if it doesn't hurt another). If you subscribe to this philosophy, next someone will be dictating that you wear your seat belt "if it just saves one life". Wait. They've already done that, and we bit.

let those who ride decide...

I grew up in New Hampshire and I live my life by "Live Free or Die". So yes it is smart to wear a helmet, I do, but I'll be damned before I'd tell anyone they have to, this is America... right? Yes, it's bad enough we have to wear seat belts. What's next... no drinking it's bad for your liver. The government is starting to make this a fascist country and we must fight back. The book "1984" was off by a few years.

So, show your support for "Freedom of choice" and don't participate in this event. When the turn out is poor, they'll change the rules.

Lets see, this past summer Denver officials wanted the loud pipes enforced by the police(more taxes without voter approval), and now private businesses don't want to see you or your money unless you follow their rules! I will donate my money to the Boy scouts and Girl scouts. At least they teach RESPECT to our youths.
