Hydrogen Power Motorcycles Coming Soon

USA Today ran an article about hydrogen-powered motorcycles coming soon to a dealer near you. Actually, they're not motorcycles, but more like scooters. However, I'm sure the technology will improve to full fledged motorcycles.
A British firm showed off a hydrogen-powered motorbike to the USA Tuesday. Intelligent Energy hopes to begin selling it late next year. It could be priced at about $6,000 once mass production of about 10,000 units begins, the company says.
The motorbike is called "env Bike". This thing only generates 8 horsepower, enough to carry a single rider to a maximum of 50 miles per hour. A hydrogen fill-up would cost riders about $3.00.
The bike has its own website.

Hybrid Motorcycle Revamped
by Steve
Saturday, June 04, 2005
eCycle, a maker of hybrid motors, announced yesterday that it reorganized its development of a new hybrid-powered motorcycle. According to its press release:
The new platform, which is a series hybrid, features a single-cylinder, 4-stroke gasoline engine to achieve improved highway performance, without sacrificing fuel economy. Suspension improvements include a radical single-sided swing arm for the front end that’s matched perfectly to the aluminum monocoque frame. Other notable attributes consist of a lower, more relaxed seating position, making the platform ideal for entry level riders and commuters. The rear wheel continues to be driven by a Gates Polychain, manufactured by The Gates Rubber Company.
A prototype of the hybrid motorcycle is expected this Fall.
