Baiku - Motorcycle Haiku

"Warm wind brings sweet smells
Down country road through wheat fields.
Dead bugs on my face."


That's a piece of "Baiku" I wrote this morning.

Haiku is a form of poetry that originated from Japan, consisting of three lines in a 5-7-5 syllable pattern. Baiku is the same thing, but with motorcycles as a subject.

"Songs for the Open Road" is a website containing a collection of motorcycle poetry, including Baiku. If you happen to have your "left brain" working for you, maybe now's the time to peruse some prose...
