Bike Diaper - For Oil Leaks

by Steve
Monday, January 07, 2008

If your motorcycle has issues with holding its oil, you might want to invest in the "Bike Diaper". It's an actual diaper that you fasten to your motorcycle's underbelly, to prevent against oily accidents.

The advantage of it is that you roll your bike around the garage without having to reposition your paper towels.

Bike Diaper
The Bike Diaper consists of an oil tray with oil absorbent pads, and a set of straps for keeping the diaper snug.

Changing the diaper is easy as removing the old one, and putting in a new dry one.

As for diapers for motorcycle riders, we've already covered that here.

You can buy the Bike Diaper online for $29.95 from Amazon.com...

Yamaha Expands Yamalube Oil

by Steve
Thursday, December 20, 2007

Yamaha Motor Corporation announced today that it has expanded its line of four-stroke Yamalube motor oil with the addition of seven new formulations.

The new forumlations can be used with all of Yamaha's four-stroke engines, including its Star line of cruisers.

Yamalube
The new oils also carry the "JASO MA" certification, (Japanese Automotive Standards Organization). The "MA" is the highest certified rating of motorcycle engine oil used with wet, multi-plate clutches.

I noticed around the motorcycle forums, engine oil is always a popular topic of discussion, with Amsoil salesmen constantly bashing Yamalube and other brands with charts and quotations. Whether these studies and comparisons are legit, I don't know. But I imagine Yamaha recognized there was some validity to it and chose to beef up its Yamalube line.

The new oils also come in new packaging.

Here's the breakdown of Yamaha's Yamalube 4-stroke oil lineup...

Yamalube 15W-50 Full-Synthetic with Ester
-- Yamalube's best performance oil for motorsport land engines.
-- Blended with ester-fortified synthetic base oils to provide the best protection for Yamaha engines.

Yamalube 5W-40, 10W-50, and 20W-50 Semi-Synthetic
-- Specially-blended from both mineral and synthetic base stocks to provide maximum benefits to a broad range of applications and resist thermal breakdown.
-- Exclusive blend of oils and additives minimizes frictional loss for higher performance in high stress competitive situations.
-- Offers critical protection against ring wear and piston scuffing.

Yamalube Performance All Purpose 5W-30, 10W-40, and 20W-50
-- Performance-blended engine oil that uses high quality mineral base stocks.
-- For use in motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and scooters.
-- Provides stable clutch performance and film strength to protect engine from the wear and tear of daily use.
