Apparently, Harley dealers are having trouble selling Street Glides, but can't seem to keep enough Road Glides in stock.

Some of us from our riding club rode to several Harley dealers yesterday in an attempt to find some Road Glides. One of our members wants to buy one.

None of them had any 2007 models on the showroom floor. Each dealer had two used 2006 models, however. Only one dealer had a 2007 Road Glide, but it was still in their shop waiting to be prepped.

The sales manager at Biggs Harley Davidson in San Marcos told us that for whatever reason, everyone wants Road Glides now. On the other hand, he's having trouble selling Street Glides. They have lots of 2007 Street Glides in stock.

At one time, Street Glides were all the rage, but now, they're as cold as last week's meat loaf.

He said he's had to do things like adding key pieces of chrome, adding some pin striping, or even repainting them altogether, just to get people to buy them. If he adds all the right enhancements, people buy them. But as they are, they just collect dust.

If I had my choice, I'd take the Road Glide. The Street Glide is designed for looks. The Road Glide offers more usability. Perhaps the Street Glide is losing it's novelty value?
