Potential Number Of Units Affected : 40

Summary: CERTAIN TOURING TRAILERS WERE BUILT WITH TRAILING ARM SPINDLES (A PART OF THE TRAILER FRAME DESIGNED AND INTENDED TO BE TOWED BEHIND MOTORCYCLES) THAT MAY FATIGUE AND FAIL OVER TIME. THE SPINDLE MAY FRACTURE CAUSING THE ROAD WHEEL TO NO LONGER TRACK PROPERLY.

Consequence: TRAILER (AND MOTORCYCLE) DIRECTIONAL STABILITY WOULD THEN BE COMPROMISED AND A CRASH COULD OCCUR.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW FRAME FREE OF CHARGE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED AN OWNER NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHAMPION AT 800-875-0949.

A company called Bikelug just recently unveiled its line of collapsible motorcycle trailers. If you find yourself storing your motorcycle trailer more often than using it, a collapsible trailer from Bikelug might be a better choice.
