I Love Vagina Clothing

by Steve
Monday, April 16, 2007

I Love Vagina ClothingMaking their way through motorcycle shows across California and parts thereof is a new "lifestyle" company called "I Love Vagina".

You can buy t-shirts, hats, pins, belt buckles, wallets, and pens with the "I Love Vagina" quote emblazoned on them. You can even buy a shirt for your dog with the same statement on it.

And vagina-love is not just for guys. They sell the same gear for women too with a full line of women's wear, including stuff that says, "I Love Cock".

They sell other funny stuff like the "Vagina Pillow", which looks like a vagina, as well as a "Pussy Purse". Catholics might be offended by the "Vagina Candle", which depicts the outline of Our Lady of Guadalupe, except with a vagina painted in.

We ran into these guys at the San Diego Motorcycle & Hot Rod Expo last Saturday. They stuffed a couple of stickers into my hand, and gave me a free 30-minute pass to their online archive of "I Love Vagina Movies" (a $5.00 value).

The company's blog, which just launched recently, claims they are "the forgotten 1%ers that refuse to accept the image of the vagina that corporations are shoving down our throats". AS IF they're not trying to shove a vagina down my throat!

In addition, they described themselves as surfers, and it appears they thought bikers would appreciate this stuff. I'm sure the rubbies will love it.

Hardly Delicate

by Steve
Tuesday, May 02, 2006

Hardly DelicateOne of the vendors at the Yuma Prison Run that was selling well was Hardly Delicate, a maker of large-size women's clothing.

All of their products have this butterfly design you see on the right. The butterfly has a motorcycle front-end in the middle.

According to the company, the design is selling so well, they're getting demand for medium sizes. Normally, they only sell sizes in L, XL, 2X, and 3X.

My wife bought their "wife beater".

Their motto: Specializing in Larger Sizes for the Big-Boned Biker!

Here's a photo of the gal who runs Hardly Delicate.

Convicted Clothing

by Steve
Sunday, April 16, 2006

Convicted ClothingOne of the vendors at the Quick Throttle Expo 2006 was Convicted Clothing.

Dubbed, "Art from behind the walls", they sell clothes with designs drawn by convicts in the California State Prison System.

Convicted Clothing donates money to charitable organizations, such as those that create sober living centers that prisoners can parole into and guide them towards twelve-step programs. They also donate to charities that benefit children of prisoners and victims of violent crime.

The t-shirt design to the right was drawn by "Trout" currently at Pelican Bay State Prison.

You can buy their products online, or at these retailers.

Here's a photo of the guy, who represented the company at the Quick Throttle show.

Too Much Harley Stuff for Christmas

by Steve
Thursday, December 29, 2005

Not sure why, but I ended up with something like three Harley t-shirts for Christmas. I don't even ride a Harley!

My wife bought me one of them even. The others came from nieces and nephews. In fact, my wife bought a Harley t-shirt for herself too. I'm not sure what she was thinking.

I do own some other Harley-branded stuff, such as a denim vest. I bought the vest because I really liked the feel, the look, and the quality. The vest does NOT have the big Harley logo on back, so it doesn't look funny when I'm riding on my Road Star.

However, the t-shirts have large, very easily recognizable Harley logos on back. I'll probably give them away as raffle items at the next bike-night, or something.

Skin Industries Under Fire From Veterans

by Steve
Wednesday, April 13, 2005

Skin Industries, which produces clothes and designs marketed to teenagers and young adults, has come under criticism from bikers and military veterans after unveiling a design based on the POW/MIA emblem:

Bikers and veterans across the United States are writing letters to Al Borda, the President of Skin Industries to complain. In response, Borda wrote a letter attempting to explain their position about the use of the POW/MIA emblem. Below are excerpts from his letter:

"...but first let inform you, the "FLAG" and or "Symbol" is not a registered trademark and is not a copyright."

"I'm sorry you feel that the design contained on one of our shirts is offensive. As President of Skin, I can assure you that it was not, and is not, our intention to offend those who have served in the military or members of their family. Skin has thousands of customers on active duty in all branches of our country's armed forces and regularly receives both requests for merchandise and notes of appreciation from those stationed overseas. We have offered a fifty percent discount on merchandise to military personnel and have been supporting our nation's troops long before it was fashionable to do so."

"Support for our troops and our nation's veterans remains extremely important to me on a personal level. Both my father and my stepfather served in the Air Force. My stepfather completed two tours of duty in Korea and three in Vietnam. In fact, the first five years of my life were spent living on military bases overseas."
Well, my father did time in Vietnam, as did my stepfather, and my father-in-law did time in Korea. And just like Mr. Borda, I lived on military bases also. I would never use such an emotional symbol as the POW/MIA emblem, disfigure it into something humorous or sexy, and try to make a buck off of it.

My guess is that Borda doesn't really design clothes and logos anymore. I'm sure he has a staff of people who do this stuff for him. To see him trying to defend this design by citing it as public domain, and then going on to say how sensitive he is about our veterans is bunch of bull shit.

If Borda does have such high regard for our fallen and forgotten servicemen, then he would have instead jumped all over this, and rolled some heads in his company. Instead, he feels that this sexy logo will generate some publicity for him.

Let's see if we can make all that publicity negative!

Here are some e-mail addresses I pulled off of their website:

Information & Customer Service: info@skinindustries.com
Marketing, Foreign Distributors: alborda@skinindustries.com
Wholesale and Dealer sales: nicole@skinindustries.com

Let them know you don't like this new design they created.
