Motorcycle Fishing Boat

What better way to go fishing than to convert your motorcycle into a boat!
James Garlitz's built this hydrofoil-style watercraft from a 1985 Yamaha Virago, and it's powered by a 9.9hp Nissan outboard motor.

He says that when you take this thing up to speed, it actually glides right on the surface of the water and it feels like you're flying.
Check out the video of this thing on Popular Mechanics...

Yamaha Kills the Virago

The Yamaha Virago, once the bread-n-butter of their v-twin motorcycle lineup, is now officially gone, with the introduction of its 2008 model line up.
Since the inception of its Star model line, the Virago has been holding out with a single 250cc showing.
Actually, the bike is still there, but it's been renamed, "V Star 250".
I suppose we can pretend the "V" stands for "Virago".

The Virago line was Yamaha's original v-twin motorcycle, and it was the Virago that eventually became refined into the current Star line up. In fact, the Star motorcycles all have a model number that begins with "XV", which is what the Viragos were.
The Virago originally hit the market in 1981 with a 750cc engine. Yamaha made several models of Viragos, with engine displacements of 125, 250, 400, 500, 535, 700, 750, 1000, and 1100.
