The Harley Davidsons for Christ, also known as the Black Sheep HDFC, are perhaps one of the largest motorcycle ministries in the United States. Much of their membership seems to be focused in California, but they have chapters all over the country.

Yesterday, us folks with in our club decided to participate in the first annual Bikers For Education Poker Run (The BFE Run), in Fallbrook, CA. I'd say a wide majority of bikers there were from the Black Sheep HDFC.

The first card drawn in the poker hand was at the Black Sheep's tent. As you drew a card, you got to see their brochures about God.

At the final stop, where the rally took place, members of the Black Sheep were on hand to shine your boots, which gave them an opportunity to speak to you about God. I suppose its a good way to get someone's attention for a while, but as a member of an RC, I don't think I could get myself to shine another biker's boots.

But for one thing, the Black Sheep HDFC are passionate about riding, and passionate about their religion. These guys are able to combine both. But if any of you Black Sheep are reading this, enough with the pamphlets and brochures!

  1. Steve... We appreciate your support of the BFE Ride & Rally. Glad you enjoyed the event. Just want you to know that out of the several hundred bikers in attendance, only about 40-45 were Black Sheep. Certainly not a majority, but they were a big help by managing the entire Poker Run, and I think they did an outstanding job. Don't you?
