Orange County Choppers NecktieThere's just way too much crap being sold with the Orange County Choppers logo.

I don't know about you, but when I was a kid, it was embarrasing to show up at school wearing "Trax" shoes. That's because "Trax" was a brand from K-Mart, and any kid whose mom bought them stuff from K-Mart was a geek.

I'm starting to feel the same way about OCC stuff.

On eBay, you can find...

They even have their own energy drink, and their own hot sauce.

Obviously people are buying this stuff, or else they wouldn't put the OCC logo on so much shit. But who?

I suppose if you own an actual OCC Chopper, then it makes sense to buy up all their licensed junk. But let's not kid ourselves.

Perhaps I'm just jealous of them making so much money on their logo. Think anyone will want to buy some Biker News Online boxer shorts?

  1. Well as Coluche (a french hulmorist) said "si vous ne l'achetiez pas, ça ne se vendrait pas" (if you don't buy it, it won't sell)!! As this is a big TV show it makes sense people just get fans and need all the goodies possible (sort of like all the KISS goodies at one stage LOL).

Anyway the day people get nuts to get our Unicorn Adventures goodies I will be happy ;)

  2. I don't see what all the fuss is with occ. I think they are a bunch of arrogant fools, as someone said last bike week "They are just cake decorators!" Ha Ha So true.

  3. Well I was tired of the act by about the fourth show. All done.
But is yours a case of lovin' to hate them, or hatin' that 'Ya love them..?
Sort of. The very first add at the top left of page one was guess what...

  5. orange county choppers ( can't even force myself to capitalize it) are a joke, but i even have become to hate the word "choppers", all of a sudden since Jesse James made them famous everyone is cashing in on calling thier business choppers. Choppers were originared with Harley-Davidson and even Triumphs, Not S&S, Sputh, Merc. All the bikes that these so called "chopper" buiders "manufacture" today all look the same. Indian Larry built and Jesse James still builds the last true Choppers. Oh and some asian dude does a pretyy good job too. occ sucks the big one, the only true mechanic isn't in the family on that show

    ReplyDelete
  6. Aren't none of those fools actually building choppers. They are all knock offs. The chopper was just that a chopped motorcycle. I think they all do a decent job of building knockoffs but none of them are actually taking a stock bike and chopping the neck and changing the rake, nor are they hcoping the legs and extending them they are all using a prefabed frame adn prefabed extended forks where is the "CHOP" in CHOPPER there

  7. I'm right there with ya Steve, I just don't get it. I have had way too much of them. Because I ride, eveyone I know who doesn't has to inform me when they are making an appearance in my area. I had enough last year when I recieved a copy of Musicians Friend and they had a couple of cheeze dick guitars with their logo festooned all over them. I'm ready for their day in the sun to come to an end.

  8. I agree, I'm sick to death of these guy's making millions on bikes that are built to make billions dollar companys richer or do something for a charity that they dont even give to themselves. I agree that Harley does tiolet paper and makes a profit from it. But please give us a break from the Tuttles. If I want to hear somebody scream I'll go see my MoM.

  9. You know, with all this whining about OCC, you would think there was cheese somewhere to be found. These guys are living the american dream, what the heck do you do for a livin besides gripe about the texture of toilet paper? lol

  10. The boys at OCC are what the industry terms "WHORES."

They are "whoring" themselves on everything they can possible.

The last straw for me were the 7-11 drink cups with the OC whores on it.

Making major bucks is a great thing, but somewhere along the line you have to decide how much dignity & integrity you have. How much of a "whore" your willing to be. They know no bounds apparently.

  11. Hey if I could be a million dollar idiot I would. Until the smoke clears it's a good ride. What gets me they think they are good. In the begining they were all off the shelf cookie cutter bikes. Nowadays with a zillion dollars worth of equipment you could build anything. In both cases talent is not needed

    ReplyDelete
  12. I think their bikes are deathtraps but I can't knock them for using their popularity to make big money.I look at the bikes they build and I see an uncomfortable bike that has issues with handling and safety. There are many other custom bikes out there that are built for riding and cost a lot less.

  14. Go go dregs of humanity! One immutable fact about people is that they will always slam the successful. There isn't a single person here who wouldn't punch his own mother in the throat to have the type of life the Teutul's have made for themselves. So...go check your mailbox for this months welfare check, get your mullet re-permed and stop lazy-boy quarterbacking the lives of those who actually contribute something worthwhile to humanity. And P.S. I love how everyone posts their "criticism's " anonymously....the only thing cooler than a know it all poser, is a pansie-ass know it all poser.

  15. you guys need to shut the hell up and get a life these guys went from nohing to somehing they busted there butts off to get where they are and i dont know who the idiot is that says they cant build there the top in the world. Who cares if they put their logos on everyhing they earned it quit being jealous and shut the hell up .

  16. Here's OCC expanding into huge facilities, increasing their monthly expendatures, and getting lots of free equipment.. So when they are over bloated, and all of a sudden fans decide OCC is no longer cool, what happens to their huge debt load? Personally, when OCC begins to implode, I predict Paul Sr. will try and recapture it by dumping the majority of his assets and liquid into a huge marketing campaign that will fail, forcing them into brankruptcy. This will happen soon after they IPO.

I own a white OCC tee shirt and it is a very nice shirt. I even customized it. yep. With a BIG red circle and a line thru where it says OCC. Now I Say No to theme bikes build it your self and not from a kit.

  18. I don't have a problem with people making as much money as they possibly can, I just think they have gone overboard with their marketing. They were millionaires from their TV shows and apparel. So why take the extra step of selling crap like cologne and ties and umbrellas? C'mon.. what the hell does that crap have to do with bike building? Oh and on that, they don't even actually "chop" anything. They use pre-built frames with pre-built motors, and then see how many corporate themed doo-dads they tack onto the bike. Not true fabricators at all. If you like these guys, then that is your perogative. However, please don't make a silly statement that they build they best stuff out there because there are tons of builders who put these guys to shame.

  19. The funny part about this site is you are selling stuff for them by telling people where they can find the stuff, like on e-bay you even have the auction listed. I think your real name is Mikey and you are helping them sell OCC stuff

    ReplyDelete
  20. The fact that when one of their fabricators fuck up something they, O.C.C. DON'T FIX IT, they just accept the shit and cover it up. I am watching the show now and the chromers did not cromw the handle bars correctly so instead of SENDING the SHIT BACK to be DONE RIGHT, the lazy assholes cover the handlebars with TAPE? Are you fucking kidding me?

    ReplyDelete
  21. When to we get to see these guys on Dr. Phil getting treatment for their developmental and emotional issues? Will someone ever tell them that tats, homophobia, leather, unnecessary risks, and screaming are not a substitute for adult manhood. All this logo crap is just a further attempt by the consumers to emulate the fake persona portrayed on ( in this case the aptly named ) idiot box.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The fact is in the end their market is anti-mainstream. I don't knock anyone for making money, especially all the charity work the Tuttles have done. But you can't have your cake and eat it too. They are losing crediblity, which is fatal in their market. Once they've lost that credibility, all their corporate sponsors are going to go away. They absolutely need to take a pill where these preposterous theme bikes are concerned. If I see one more corporate theme bike I think I'm going to puke.

  23. OCC has come a long way, but lets look a the big picture.

Harley Davidson makes more money every year selling merchandise than bikes. I personally hate the whole 'Harley is the best' attitude. In fact, I hate most of what Harley has come to represent - stupid people spending stupid amounts of money on things that are under-featured and over-priced, especially with the expectation that it will "keep it's value." (HINT: a used, overpriced bike is only worth what some idiot is willing to pay for it. Fortunately, there are plenty of idiots.)

OCC is following the same path, they started small, made some big money and all that. Yes, they're main stream now. Good for them. If it offends you that bad, go down the street to your buddy that actually owns a welder and have HIM build your bike. You never know, in a few years, he may make some money and you'll have to hate him, too.

It's the natural order of things. Companies start with principals but end with money, and lose thier soul in the process. Cry about it if you like, but if you don't like the way something is done then DO IT YOURSELF or shut up. Most people can't weld or build motorcycles, and most sure as hell can't start and maintain thier own company. Paul Sr. has done it TWICE, and made BIG MONEY.

Just make sure that if you get your own shop, try not to make too much money for fear of losing your "street cred."

Arrogant or not, they've made a name, and they're sucessful. They can sell all the merchandise they want. They've earned it.

  24. You're jealously is dripping off you like some kind of tainted mucus. Why are you so angry about a father/son team who is making millions of dollars the old fashion way, Through hard work and active imaginations. If you don't like it don't bitch about it. Just put your jaw in neutral and your ass in gear. You can do what the tuttles did too!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Their bikes are crap! First, everything they get is bought in - engines, gearboxes, frames, fenders, and half the tanks they use. Then, they just put this stuff together - badly! Most of the time they seem to have the primary and drive belts misaligned, clutches don't work, and when they can't get the things started they are totally lost. Rick ususally has to actually get the thing started! Ususally they grid a starter drive gear to pieces just getting the thing to start. I don't think they could take the heads of a V twin in a month and put it back together again. If I wanted a Chopper I'd want a CNCed alloy engine, tuned exhaust, tuned suspension, alloy frame just for starters. These guys just couldn't do any thing like that! You wounder why Vinnie left. The Bike he built (with no time to do everything he acctually wanted to do) was a single sided swing arm with on overhead cam engine - actually bike that didn't come straight from the HD factory and probably performs quite well. Hopefull he gets to build the bikes he wants to at his new company.

    thats exactly the point !!
The american dream live!! Two mediocre bikemechanics earn a shitlaod of money because a TV show decided to make a serial with that clowns...hahaha...what a Joke!!..and now this doushbags think they are the center of the chopper universe !! ...thats only sad!!

  27. haha i love it when douchebags accuse people of being jealous.

it's exactly the kind of shit that those money burning yuppies tell me after they pull up on their harleys. it's the "i've bought in to it, and if you haven't, you're a fag" mentality.

i just laugh, start the ninja, and ride away, swerving to avoid the chrome mirrors and air filter covers littering the road..

    LOL

  31. I wonder how the New Economy is effecting OCC? They got some great new Real Estate to pay for. I am sure the tools were free because of the TV time they get, but I can't imagine that these bikes will continue to sell at a record rate. I wonder if staying small would have been the better move? I can remember years ago you could only get OP and Ron Jon surf shirts in surf shops for big bucks. They were great shirts and wore like steel. Then OP mass produced for 2 years they owned the market, but when they started selling a cheaper shirt at Sears, Kmart and other such stores their brand nit-ch was lost. There was a time where you wouldn't be caught dead wearing one. (if you had any sense) OCC has a GREAT logo, their show was fun to watch. However the success has watered down the brand. I think the whole cast loves its fans and that has not changed. They give back in a big way to their local community and were nice enough to stay local when they could have made more money by moving away. I hope everything works out for them. Time will tell.

  33. Same here regarding Paul Sr. and his (free?) Toyota pickup. Shut off the show right away after that sight. Chrysler is going down the tube along with GM and this "Mr. made in USA" boob is driving a foreign truck? When OCC is on the brink of failure do you think they will blame all those japanese cruiser clones out there? I'm sure they will. I was a fan of the show at the very beginning........ but soon all those corporate bikes started showing up (mower companies, weight loss companies, etc, etc) and the downhill began. I remember one time my wife sat down to watch an episode with me... she said "all they seem to do is look through catalogs, order parts and TRY to put them together, lol" ... this from a woman who couldn't tell a Fat Boy from a Rupp mini-bike! I for one won't be tuning into the new shows.... especially when I saw the price of that bike they were building so, as Paul put it.. "everyone will now be able to afford an OCC bike"... price? $24,900.00...... !!!!! Well I guess I'm not everyone. Google Orange County Choppers along with the word bankrupt and you will see they have been involved with some less than legal dealings in the past and present. See ya'll at the new OCC boutique!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. My husband watches those buffoons and all I can do is get up and go into the garage where my bike is, just to get away. I am tired of Paul Sr. and his roid rage and it's time it all wrapped up and went away. Jealous? Absolutely not. I make enough to be happy and if what the Teutels have is happiness, I'll eat my handlebars.

  35. Tools? We don't need no stinking tools! All we need are some parts catalogs and a few minimum wage workers to bolt all the pieces together when they arrive. Thats the OCC way!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. If it wasn't for The Discovery Channel, OCC would be just another of the thousands of faceless chopper shops. Add a team of writers (reality TV?), contrived father & son drama and a bunch of stuff suits to market the image and you've got a multi-million dollar industry. The only one who seems real is that likable dumb ass Mikey.
Vinny & Cody finally had enough, looks like Rick ain't far behind.
I'm sure Jr's leaving is a setup for a tearful reunion.

  38. all I see here is the "Mc Donalds" arguement- everyone complaining about the big guy, I bet fags like jesse james and his matt black push bikes and chainsaw engines wish ppl would give them half the press that these guys get. every person that has posted in this room would trade their left nut for a piece of the teutuls action, sure they piss me off that their shows not about the bikes and more about them flaunting their wealth, but the anger i feel watching those rich punks is well over shadowed at the idea of having all their cash

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well i figured when i saw the first swingset looking motorcycle with a gas tank that obscure your view of the road that it would never be something people would actually build more of.. I was wrong, todays "bikers" are dorks with more credit at hand than time actually riding. They buy these ugly piles of crap because thier neighbor has one. Keeping up with the Jones invaded the motorcycle world with assholes like Arlin Ness (Mess) those were the ugliest turds to ever be pushed out of a shop. Until OCC began molesting motorcycles. Indian Larry was a dope head, Jessi James is a chump, anyone with a production chopper is a jack ass. The idea behind a custom is to do it yourself, or with your buddies. Thats the fun of building it, not paying 50 grand for something that looks like everything else. Hell even Honda builds a chopper now.. in the 70s people put the CB750 in a chopper frame, that was mildly cool. You are a total dork if you think OCC and the rest of these idiots are good builders! Im glad the fad is over.. although all you people will be on to the next thing.. maybe hotroded Vacuums? or Custom mailboxes? perhaps even designer children?

  42. Haha, it is funny reading all of these comments. Whats even more funny is that there are many more shows to come and I guarantee everyone on here will continue watching. You all just love to hate. Jealousy is one of the deadly sins. I wouldnt goin around saying to many derogatory things if you haven't actually been to the shop and see what goes on. There are more things fabricated there than any other chopper shop i have ever seen. People seem to live vicarously through television and only see that. They dont see the other 130 bikes that are made there every year.

OCC did not make the cash by selling bikes, they sell ADVERTISEMENT. They had these corporate companies paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to get exposure on a hit tv series. What better than a 1 hour commercial all about YOU that people enjoy watching without realizing it's a frikin' commercial!

The father is biggest douchbag i've ever seen. Your company is pulling in millions thanks to your sons creative vision and instead of kissing his ass, you bite the hand that feeds you??
